Community Guidelines
Version 2026-08-25. These apply to everyone — attendees, hosts and their teams.
For everyone
- Show up, or release your spot. Rooms are small. If you can't make it, cancel — the next person gets in.
- Consent is the whole game. No unwanted contact, no pressure, no following someone after an event, online or off.
- No harassment, no slurs, no bigotry. This includes "jokes".
- Don't out people. What someone shares in a room stays in that room unless they say otherwise.
- This is not a dating platform. Treating it as one — collecting contacts, pursuing attendees romantically after they've disengaged — will get you removed.
- Be honest about who you are. Impersonation and fake credentials are grounds for removal.
For hosts
- Describe the event honestly — the format, who it's for, what's included.
- Publish the venue and time before anyone pays.
- Honour your refund policy, and refund in full if you cancel.
- Handle what happens in your room. If something goes wrong, act at the time.
- Never use applicant data for anything but running your event. The professions and contact details you receive are shared with you under a limited, expiring grant.
- Don't discriminate on caste, religion, disability, sexuality or gender identity. Formats restricted by gender for safety reasons (for example, women-only events) are permitted and must be stated up front.
Reporting
Every event and group page has a report link. Reports come to Thinnai, never to the host — including reports about a host.
Tell us at support@thinnai.app if you'd rather email. In an emergency, contact the police first (112).
What happens when a rule is broken
Depending on severity: a warning, removal from a group, suspension of an account, or permanent removal from the platform. Hosts whose groups repeatedly generate incidents lose the ability to host.
We record what we did and why.
